Beer Festival
The Britannia Inn Beer Festival 2012
This annual event is big date in the Britannia Inn calendar and a must for any beer connoisseur. This year promises to be extra special as its the 10th anniversary of the festival and we are planning a few surpises.
The event lasts for 10 days and is scheduled for 9th - 18th November 2012.
Last year we managed to host (and sample quite a lot of) twenty beers, all brewed locally by award winning beer producers.

Britannia Gold Eden Brewery

Dogs Bollocks Wychwood Brewery
5.2% Pale golden, well rounded flavours warm the palate and come together with a hint of nuts, resulting in a robust fulsome aroma that hangs low’til the last.
Britannia Inn Coniston Brewery
4.2% Made in the style of Taylor’s ‘Landlord’ brew. Well balanced, hoppy and fruity golden bitter. Bitter-sweet in the mouth with dryness building.
Corby Blonde Cumberland Breweries
4.2% A pronounced hop character with clean hop flavours and aromas. A well balanced flavour derived from the finest Maris Otter malts.
Snecklifter Jennings Brewery
5.1% An award winning beer, a strong, satisfying ale, wonderfully warming and full of complex flavours, which create an intriguing beer of great character.
Windermere Pale Hawkshead Brewery
3.5% Maris Otter Pale Ale malt with a bit of wheat. Loads of fruity hop flavours from a medley of traditional and modern hops. The signature aroma hop is Citra.
Hawkshead Red Hawkshead Brewery
4.2% A Red Ale. Bitter-sweet. First comes the sweetness of the Dark Crystal malt, which gives it the red colour, and then the long dry finish. A beer for those who like their ale to have some colour and taste of malt.
Old Faithful Tirril Brewery
4.0% A light golden, aromatic and refreshing beer. Tirril's best seller makes an ideal session ale.
Academy Ale Tirril Brewery
4.2% A dark, full bodied, very traditional rich and malty ale. Flavoured using three varieties of English hops.
Special Oatmeal Stout Coniston Brewery
4.5% Oats are used in the grist of this beer to give body and smoothness, enhancing the roasted barley, giving it complex flavours reminiscent of dark chocolate and coffee. This is balanced by a fresh hop bitterness and dry finish.
Loweswater Gold Cumbrian Legendary Ales
4.3% A true golden ale it is brewed using three malts including Maris Otter together with German hops. Bursting with tropical flavour
Langdale Cumbrian Legendary Ales
4.0% A fruity, refreshing low gravity ale with a distinctive orange citrus taste.
Grasmoor Dark Cumbrian Legendary Ales
4.3% A deep rich ruby red ale. Aromas of dark chocolate and liquorice. The taste is smooth and sweet with a hint of roasted coffee.
Laughing Gravy Ulverston Brewery
4.0% One of our original and most popular beers. A light, copper beer with a balance between malt and hops, leaving a thirst-quenching aftertaste
Lonesome Pine Ulverston Brewery
4.2% A pale, honey beer with sweet malts followed by tangy citrus fruits. Refreshing all year round
Yates Bitter Yates Brewery
3.7% A well balanced, full bodied bitter, golden in colour with complex hop bitterness. Good aroma and distinctive flavour.
Yates Golden Ale Yates Brewery
3.9% An extremely pale coloured beer. Fully rounded, smooth, hoppy flavour, using lager malt and hops.
Eden Fuggle Eden Brewery
3.8% Produced using Maris Otter Pale Ale Malt and a single variety of Fuggle Hops from one farm. Light golden in colour.
First Emperor Eden Brewery
